Welcome to Your Entrepreneurial Adventure!

Thank you for choosing to welcome Ujamaa Youth Business Expo into your community. We are glad you share our passion for helping children flourish by giving them a taste of entrepreneurship early in life. We believe the Children’s Business Fair instills leadership, courage, perseverance, and responsibility into young hearts and minds. This is a great opportunity for parents and mentors to spend quality time with their children. We desire this to be a fun event with many opportunities to learn and grow and that the child entrepreneur begiven full ownership and responsibility of the project.

This guide will help you establish and coordinate a Children’s Business Fair. You will find a basic package of what you need for organizing a Children’s Business Fair no matter the number of entrepreneurs or attendees. We hope this guide proves helpful, but please take liberty to do what is deemed best for your Children’s Business Fair. Again, thank you for establishing a Children’s Business Fair! 5 Steps to Hosting a Children's Business Fair

1.) Plan

Set a future date for the fair. Choose a convenient time and an easy location that will bring traffic. Find a few tables.

Find some chairs. You’re all set.

2.) Recruit

Set up your website and begin taking applications from local children. Not a tech person? No problem! Our simple, fill-in-the-blank setup makes it easy to create and publish a professional-looking website in a matter of minutes. You

are in control of the size of your fair, if you’d like to collect booth fees, and much more. If you plan on charging a booth fee, collect secure payments from entrepreneurs, straight to you with built-in payment processing via PayPal. Get

notified of new booth applications and contact requests, and review, accept, or reject applications from your control panel. Find a few friends who are willing to help out and serve as judges.

3.) Promote

Spread the word! Create a Facebook Event and promote your fair via social media. Share flyers and put up a few posters. Feel free to use the resources provided. Use our step-by-step guidebook as a blueprint for hosting your fair. If

you get stuck along the way, collaborate with hosts in our community forum for the best tips, tricks, and advice.

4.) Execute

Set up the tables, get out the camera, and watch the fun! Invite the judges to evaluate each booth and host a brief award ceremony. Feel free to use our forms.

5.) Evaluate

Tell us how it went! Send us your pictures and feedback, and we’ll help with the prize money! You can use this money to help offset hosting costs or give awards to the best businesses. Now repeat!
